Peace freed the disciples from guilt, fear and anxiety, before they were filled with a positive vision of the future, and in the same way, God’s peace empowers us to follow our purpose. There are loads of religions out there so how do we know which one is right? Well my personal belief is that none of them are ... because Jesus is so much more than religion. Jesus is the God who climbs down the mountain to help you in your troubles ... He's not like other religions where god just lists out his demands and expects you to keep all the rules. No, Jesus is the God who humbly steps into human history with the aim of showing you the true heart of God. A heart of compassion and love - that not only cares for you ... but has died for you on the cross to save you. How do we know which religion is right? What do we need to do to be saved? How can we know God personally? Does God care about us? What religious rules do I need to keep? The answers to all these questions is found not in religion ... but in right relationship with God - through faith in His one and only son Jesus Christ. Don't waste your life climbing religious mountains ... God loves you so very much ... and He proved it on the cross.

We’ve recently witnessed the coronation of King Charles 111 and although he doesn’t have any particular ruling powers, his role is to be inspirational – someone for us to look up to; someone whose values we should follow. But of course, he’s human. So what happens when the king doesn’t live up to expectations? Well, another king, much written about, had his share of mistakes as well as successes. From humble shepherd, giant-slayer, gifted poet, mighty warrior, flawed man to legendary leader, David is one of history's most famous kings. But more important, he was a man after God's own heart. So what can we learn from this great King of history? Few things are as repulsive as a leader, parent, boss, or politician who leverages influence for his or her benefit to the neglect of those he or she is responsible for. Few things are as inspiring as a leader who says no to himself or herself in order to say yes to those for whom he or she is responsible. If you walk in the hills and mountains of our national parks, you’ll come across small piles of rocks (cairns) that walkers have created to help mark the way. We all benefit from those cairns when clouds descend, and the path becomes unclear. Even on sunny days, they provide reassurance, while more distant ones hint at different paths still to explore. There are times in life when a few words of advice or a nugget of wisdom can act as a cairn in life – a wise sentence or two that gets your life back on course when you’ve been lost in a fog and just can’t see clearly or objectively. Often we try to find our identity in what we do, where we live, what we own, who we mix with. All of these things add pressure to our doubts of whether we’re good enough, likeable enough, wealthy enough. God sees our identity as something very different and it’s not found through us looking at ourselves or by what we do, don’t do, or own. Our identity is actually found in Jesus!
